Our Story and Legacy
MRF Ltd. (Madras Rubber Factory) was established in 1946 by K. M. Mammen Mappillai in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai. Initially started as a small manufacturing venture, the company began producing tread rubber in 1951. MRF was incorporated in 1960 and became a public limited company in 1961.
Over the years, MRF has grown into one of India's leading tyre manufacturers, earning a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability. The company manufactures a wide range of tyres, catering to various segments, including two-wheelers, passenger cars, commercial vehicles, trucks, and other specialised applications.
MRF operates multiple manufacturing facilities supported by a large workforce and an extensive distribution network across India. Its dealer presence and broad product portfolio enable it to serve customers in diverse markets.
Beyond tyre manufacturing, MRF is also recognised for its contribution to sports through the MRF Pace Foundation, which has played a role in training and developing fast bowlers.
